Daigle, Fisse & Kessenich’s medical malpractice group, Jon A. Van Steenis and Paul “Trey” Trapani, III, recently obtained summary judgment on behalf of an acute care hospital wherein plaintiffs alleged the patient developed an infection in his surgical wound during post-discharge follow up care owing to hospital negligence. The Court held plaintiffs’ evidence was insufficient to conduct a trial on the issue, and dismissed the claims against the hospital with prejudice.
