Short Biography

Sarah S. Monsour is an accomplished litigator in the Firm’s Baton Rouge office. Sarah has over 18 years’ experience representing clients in both the public and private sectors through all phases of complex civil litigation. For nearly a decade, Sarah has counseled and defended public entities, public officials and public employees in a wide variety of matters, from administering, negotiating, and litigating public contracts, to defending a multimillion-dollar purported class action and defending high-profile civil rights litigation in state and federal courts. Sarah started out in private practice in New Orleans, where she defended some of the nation’s largest insurance companies in mass tort/catastrophe litigation, coverage disputes, extra- contractual/bad faith suits, and fraudulent claims. Sarah worked closely with corporate counsel at a Fortune 50 company to devise innovative defense strategies on an institutional level, and in hundreds of individual claims throughout the state. Originally from the Houston area, Sarah came to Louisiana State University for undergraduate school, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She obtained her juris doctor & Bachelor of Civil Law from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. While in law school, Sarah won 1st Place in the American College of Legal Medicine’s Annual Writing Competition. Her paper was published in the ACLM’s annual report, and Sarah presented her award-winning paper at the ACLM’s Annual Conference in California.
