Short Biography

Hays Ward, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, practices in the areas of expropriations, probate and estate planning, business and commercial transactions. Hays graduated from Louisiana State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Thereafter, he received his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Comparative Law from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law School, in 2023. During his time in law school, Hays clerked for the Attorney General’s office in the Consumer Protection Division. While in law school, Hays specialized in Estate Planning and Taxation, receiving a certificate in the same. Also, while in school, Hays wrote his capstone paper entitled “Bury Me in the Backyard—Legally,” which proposed expanding the power of a medical power of attorney to include the ability to direct the disposing of a person’s bodily remains in accordance with their wishes. Hays currently lives in Hammond, Louisiana, with his wife Eleanor and son Walter. Hays enjoys hunting and reading in his free time and is an avid LSU Baseball fan.
