Short Biography

Jason Bonaventure is a senior attorney practicing in the Baton Rouge Office. Born and raised in South Louisiana, Jason has practiced law for over 25 years as both a transactional and litigation attorney. Throughout his career, Jason has represented a broad array of clients, including state, local, and tribal governments, construction firms, design professionals, insurance companies, railroads, businesses, and individuals. He has litigated cases before the United States Fifth Circuit, the Louisiana Supreme Court of Louisiana, all three Louisiana federal district courts, and nearly every state appellate and district court in Louisiana. His diverse experience delivers a well-rounded, practical approach in assisting clients.  While working weekend nights as a sheriff deputy in Pointe Coupee Parish, Jason earned a B.A in Government from Southeastern Louisiana University, and thereafter, attended Southern University Law Center. In 2005, after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck tragedy through South Louisiana, Jason was recruited by the State to join the recovery efforts. Serving as the Deputy General Counsel for the State Division of Administration, Jason was instrumental in some of the state’s largest public works projects, amending public works laws, negotiating business and property transactions, and litigating significant cases involving government administration, construction, employment, and many other areas of law.  Jason's leadership in his practice areas include serving as committee chair for the local bar and teaching various continuing education courses on the construction, employment, and public law to his fellow attorneys and industrial groups. Jason's leadership is not reserved to his vocation, as much of his free time is given back to the community as the past-president of his local Rotary, board members on local non-profits, and scoutmaster in Scouts BSA.
